If the thought of exploring US Route 89 fires your imagination, you are invited to join the US Route 89 Appreciation Society. The Society is dedicated to providing its members with the all the information they need to plan a trip along this unique highway.

Members can sign up to receive a monthly e-mail newsletter with features about places to visit and up-to-date listings of special events and happenings.

This website will be the source of information for travelers and residents along 89. Detailed maps and photographs will guide visitors to scenic wonders and other attractions. The website will also be a communications center for current events and issues affecting those who live along 89. Anyone can register and add photos and stories which will be tagged and linked to the appropriate location.

The US Route 89 Appreciation Society is part of James and Barbara Kemp Cowlin’s project to document the people and places along this unique highway. The project includes the creation of a traveling photography exhibition and a large-format book of landscape photographs. A traveler’s field guide is also planned that will connect the geography and history of the West to places along the road.
